Subject: Lubricate your linkage as preventative maintenance

Shogun, thanks for the useful links, it turns out that you are correct, the linkage merely required some lubrication and manual working to free it up and return it to normal.

Two linkage points are visible beneath the black plastic cover, these are both accessible and vulnerable to weather. I would advise all to spray lubricant on these points, since they can dry up and cause the motor to work harder.
