I really don't feel like there was any immediate or long term damage. I've since changed the oxygen sensor and the catalytic converter. But for the last year and half since the incident, it does run very rough on cold mornings. It never had in the past. That could be an unrelated injector problem (from sitting so long), timing chain may be getting loose, etc.

Luckily, when I started having the problems, I discontinued the use of the car, for just that reason. You never really know what's going on inside the motor unless you've got the time and tools to look. Spark plugs are the closest thing I've got to an inside view and they appear nominal.

She's getting old and grumpy now, and with the -20 to 10 degree weather we're having in Chicago, it just compounds her ailments. I'd stick with stock and leave the customizing to Alpina.
