Subject: nav stuck in 'Please wait a moment'

Hey guys (and girls?? are there any women driving 7s?)

Just when u need the navigation the most, it stops working. I was an hour out of town, attending a wedding and being the designated driver, feeling nice and confident i don't need directions from anyone, when the nav gets stuck on "Please wait a moment" indefinitely. It happened right from the start when i selected "GPS Navigation" from the menu. After about 5 minutes of waiting i clicked back and the menu was working, but the navigation option was blacked out and i couldn't select it anymore. (We got home late)

The next day the same thing happened. I tried cleaning the cd, and even changing to an older map cd i had, but it didn't help.

Did any of you experience anything like it?
Is there a way to reset the navigation? fuse?

I appreciate any ideas

(BTW: its a 2000 740i, MarkII v21 nav)
