Hi Rick,

I was born in Canada, but lived in the US for the last 46 of my 49 years old.

Canada seems much cleaner and tidyer, and in my opinion, the people are friendlier than the US. Taxation in Canada is higher than the US, and they have medical insurance for everyone. However, that medical care is often slower than the US. An example is, I was told I needed mild heart surgery (non life threatening condition), and was in the hospital getting it less than 3 weeks later. My Stepfather had a normal physical, and they found colon cancer, his operation was 8 days later. I think you would wait longer for the same hospital stay in Canada. (My medical insurance is provided by my employer). My Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins seem to report much longer waits for hospital procedures than what happens here in the US.
