Just wanted to ensure that your BM53 is a real new generation version :).

As you write "Select button works with the old radio and new NAV, but doesn't work with the new radio and old NAV" your new navigation (and your old navigation for this combination) is not coded for the new generation radio.

You have to select 'new generation radio' in NavCoder and recode the navigation. Please read back the values to ensure that the coding worked!
