You will need to be. The only BMW's that get imported to Australia to my knowledge are low milage Japanese delivered vehicles (with the steering on the RH side) that are mainly used for spares. My parts dealer does this. It is possible to get foreign delivered cars certified for road use here by dealers (even some with LHD) but it is complex and the resale value of a non Australian delivered car is through the floor. Import duties are high ( a national issue) and registration varies by state. The big question is why?
