Your fuel consumption readings seem about right - depending on how you did them

If you read the 9.9 on the analogue gauge then that is just a momentary reading. You need to look at an average consumption over a period of driving (say 1 hour on the highway)

Also - not sure how you got the 22.3 reading for the city - but I am assuming you did use the OBC reading in the MID display.
It may actually be reasonable for you. If the car is new to you I suspect you are "enjoying" the performance and probably using the go pedal more than you realise.

Did you do a "reset" before allowing the readings to run for a period of time (city would take about a week).

I have never done a "city" test, but my readings are as follows

- Consumption 1 - 12.7 l/100 (never reset - has run for 10 years now)
- Consumption 2 - I only use this for trips. It will range between 8.5 and 10.5 depending on driving circumstances (traffic, weather, hills, etc)

If you use the cruise control then it activates a special transmission program that limits the amount of shifting and this keeps the converter unit in lock up most of the time. Best for level highway - but on hilly locations you can probably do better with manual control.

Regarding the transmission warning lamp - did that dealer actually do a diagnostic of the engine and the instrument cluster?
If not - then go back and ask for it to be done - it would be very unusual for the cluster to bring on the transmission warning lamp without some input from the transmission computer.
It might also be a defective ignition switch but that usually also comes with some other additional warning lamps showing intermittently.

Cheers
Jim Cash
