Subject: Get an Internet security program

Symantec, ZoneAlarm, and AVG all make good quality internet security suites which bundle antivirus software with a firewall program, popup blocker, anti-spyware software, and other features to protect your system against malware. McAfee isn't my top favorite but it's better than nothing.

It's a recommended investment in your computer, and it's a lot easier and less hassle than having to reinstall your operating system every time it catches one of these bugs.

It's hard to say whether or not just deleting a suspect file will kill the problem. If the infected file is a core system file for Windows, deleting the file along with the virus (even though probably necessary to kill the virus) MAY cause your system to become unstable.

Best solution is to backup your essential files to a CD or flash drive, reinstall your OS AND the security program, and resolve never to go online again without your security software completely on.

Hope this helps.
