Subject: Re: your Final Stage Resistor is going south. It can be

I just wanted to add a little more detail to this post in case anyone else looks into replacing the resistor themselves. My fan stopped completely, and wouldn't run on any speed, so I ordered a new FSR and replaced it. There are six screws to the glove compartment, noted with the green arrows in this first picture.

Then you'll need to remove the trim piece from the dash. This picture shows the left hand side of that piece. It needs to be pushed forward to disengage the clip. This side is also where the FSR is located.

There are only two screws holding in the FSR (green arrows mark these screws in the following pictures), but there is another thing in the way that you'll want to take out. I think a person could get the FSR out without removing the screws denoted by the orange arrows, but it would probably not be worth it.

These screws are all T-20 Torx screws. I don't have a T-20 screwdriver, so I put a T-20 bit in a long magnetic extension and then put that in a ratchet. This worked well for me - not sure why the previous post said to not do this. Anyway, that's it. Feel free to ask if you have any questions
