Subject: A bit OT maybe...but if you have an X5...BMW parts supplier has folded.

I was at the dealer this morning trying to collect a Euro drivers side mini glovebox carcass. They always get parts for me within a week at worst - I have now waited 3 weeks and no luck. Out of stock in Germany. Out of stock across the Irish sea in the UK.

While I was there I witnessed other trouble from customers. In short, they have some X5's with rear bumper damage (accident caused). They have been off the road for 7 weeks. Owners are pissed - one had his ride for only 4 days. A BMW parts supplier has gone bust and BMW cannot get the bumpers. The poor parts guy (who is a good bloke) has been facing dogs abuse.

He didn't know what else this supplier provided. The part I want, no doubt. Just thought I would pass the information on - i dont know for sure if e38 parts supply is compromised.
