Hi SCP (Southern CA People). I live in OC and have a 2000 750IL. Recently the multi-function control knob on the bottom-left of the display screen seems to have an adverse effect on all the menus and submenus....even with the lightest touch...usually, you have to turn and push to commit to an operation.

Though the control knob seems to be "mechanically" working properly -the slightest movement in any direction (sideways or turning) will cause any menu/submenu to execute an action.

The Nav unit was recently replaced and no fault codes are registered.

I am considering replacing the inside control knob unit that the exterior knob mounts onto or the ignition key assembly to remove those respective variables.

Help. I'd greatly appreciate any advice.

ps...this is my fourth BMW (3-7s and 1 5 series)....BMW really does mean "bring My Wallet".
