You have it partially hooked up correctly. You have a MKII unit, based on your build date. Do you know if you have TV?

Here is a high-level picture of where everything goes. The plugs are all color coded and only connect one way.



You probably need a navigation disk, that is what the Please Wait prompt is asking for. When you are seeing the "Please Wait" screen, see if you can hit the MENU button and get to the main menu. From there, you can go to SETTINGS to change the language.
