bmw325tds se e36 starting problems

i have just bought a bmw 325tds se e36 L reg(1993), when it is cold it starts fine
but when it is hot i struggle to start it, as soon as it has cooled down enough for the orange heat light to come back on it will start no probs again.Any ideas what it could be,someone suggested it could be a problem with the fuel injector pump,if so would the pump off my Kreg 325td be the same.Would be really gratefull for any advice.Thanks
