Subject: Re: Still shopping for a lift. Anyone have experience with

I have a Bend-Pak P6-F. The quality is great. The style is perfect for my standard residential garage with an 8' ceiling. I installed mine so that when in the down position it is flush with my floor. It works very well with my Audi A8, Saab 9000, and S-10 P/U. Your small and average sized vechicles like Audi A4, Nissan Maxima, Pontiac Grand Prix, and Corvette all fit very well. My E38 750il is a little long for it and experiences some fore-aft bouncing if I push too hard or don't set it up properly balanced. It is absolutely aweful trying to rack my VW Eurovan (The Eurovan is hard to rack on any lift), but it works when I add some custom made spacers to grab the frame in the proper location. I was mostly unsuccessful in lifting a Navigator (height and balance issues) and struggled to rack a lifted Jeep.
I get about 2 feet of usable lift without adding blocks. This is enough for most operations.
Overall, I am very satisifed with the Bend-Pak lift. If I had a bigger garage I would go with a different lift. The nice thing about hte P6-F is that I am able to keep my garage usable as a standard everyday garage (attached to the house) because there are no posts in my way and nothing to trip over.
I am happy to provide some installation tips for recessed/flush install (not easy, but worth it) if anyone is interested.
I'd post pics but my ISP is doing away with free web hosting :-(
