BMW finally rebuilt the engine per the warranty. You need to be persistent. The diagnosis provided that there were faults in the value-tronics. However, even after the rebuilt, there were still vibrations while at idle as are common in the older bimmers. Does anyone have this problem? BMW indicated that such vibrations are acceptable. Also, while at idle, the car seems to sometimes "fart" as if a gush of pressurized air is released outward from the tailpipes. I don't think this is common. Any response? BMW wouldn't attempt to fix anything if there aren't any faults shown - the "little car" on the screen. Let me know what happens to you. Good luck.
