You can get helmets at any of the motorcycle shops in town but they won't be SA rated for auto racing. Depending on what kind of driving schools you have planned, a motorcycle helmet *may* be ok...check with the school first to make sure.

One place you could try is Donnybrooke Motorsports in Spring Park, http://www.donnybrooke.com/. They sell helmets, driving shoes and suits, etc. There used to be a place out in Long Lake that sold auto racing helmets for the stock car crowd, but I don't recall the name and I can't find anything in the phone book. There's also MAS Racing Products in St. Paul just off University Avenue, although these days I think they mainly sell parts to the street rodder crowd. There has to be other places in town but I'm drawing a blank at the moment.
