Subject: An I-fixed-it story!!! woo hoo!!!

I installed my replacement windshield washer sprayers (HEATED!!) on Monday, but when I tried them, they didn't work. I figured they must be clogged. Drat. Figured I would have to take apart the hoses and find the cause.

Then today, more drama! My 750 decided it wasn't tolerating my taped up, cutup patch job of a hose any longer, and it started leaking coolant in my workplace parking lot! Arghh!!!

Then on top of everything else, my upper radiator mounts gave up the ghost and there was NOTHING holding the top portion of my radiator to the frame!

So I taped it up again (hold on for daddy just a little longer, baby, I told her) , put some more coolant in the overflow tank, used WIRE to tie the upper radiator to my frame, and drove very carefully to the stealer a mile down the road. I kept telling myself, I am NOT paying $30 for an expansion tank three way hose!

I got to the dealer and THANK GOD they had the radiator clips in stock. Then when I tried to put them on, I found that the inside edge of my upper radiator support frame was BENT! As I result, I was not able to mount the upper radiator mounts, then ONE fell down into the crevice and I had to go back in and buy a THIRD radiator mount ($1.59 each!!). Finally, thankfully, a very helpful passerby noticed me struggling with something under my hood and managed to correctly rebend the edge of the frame to accept the radiator mounts and pressed them in place properly! Hooray!! After properly thanking him, he passed along the very helpful tip that FUEL LINE hose will work very well for the hose I was trying to replace. So I went to Pep Boys and bought 15 feet of 3/8 in. ID hose. I cut off four inches of it, took off the badly mangled piece my baby had very patiently been putting up with, and managed to reinstall a new and fresh piece on there. Put some more coolant in there, and voila! No more leak, my radiator was securely mounted to its frame, and all was happy in my engine compartment.

Now for the best part of all....

I was flashing my brights at another car that looked like it was going to try to run the light and possibly t-bone my car and I inadvertently pulled the right wiper lever instead of the left light lever and what the... it was spraying warm spray on my windshield!!! My sprayers worked! Wooo Hooo!! My car need never fear a rainy day again!

Ha ha!!

My baby and I are a very happy pair indeed.

Yes, it's a 1988 750il. Don't make me open this to prove it...Death to censorship! Give me liberty or... give me an unlimited tab at the BMW parts counter! Last 7 digits of VIN number are 2765157'
