I have a factory radio/cassette/CD controller that came out of a 1990 E30 325ic when it was new. It was my former girlfriend's car and she wanted an in-dash CD player, so she didn't buy the trunk unit. She gave the factory radio to me, which I installed in my E23.

Now, MANY years later, I want the trunk-mounted CD changer. I've heard that the unit is an Alpine... but I've also heard it's not.

So I'm coming to the E30 guys to find out. Is it an Alpine or not? If it's an Alpine, I'd guess that the CD changer was also sold on the open market without BMW labeling... if so, does anyone know which model (or models) work?

If it will help people answer the question, I'll take a picture of the radio in the dash and post it...
