Subject: If the valves were adjusted too tight beforehand...

you will see a hotter running car, because the the 1988 (U.S. spec) and earlier M30 was never CARB legal at a cam duration starting at 264 degrees. Street legal in California is 220 degrees and less.

Run a nearly 3/4, or more duration cam too tight and you will not scavenge all the exhaust out of the cylinder bore and even backflow exhaust into the intake.

Result? Super high NOx (nearly triple the allowable in California) and higher running temps. Running too lean because the fuel does not adequately burn and the O2 sensor makes the Motronic ECU cut fuel and timing back, if you have the Nancy Reagan Knockbox (Nancy just says "NO!" To your foot), it's even worse! (Ask me how I know!)

Think about that, for a minute...really...

Keep HOT exhaust in the cylider and inject
toilet gas over-oxygenated 87 octane("Cos that's all U need!")
into an 8.0:1 compression engine...

No matter how many times I cut it,
it's still too short!
