Called bmw Canada yesterday, they sad they will be no production of this towing hitch detachable, it may be available online or at ebay, but they do not recommend it for the 7 series. it is only for the europen market. They only have it for the X3 and X5 in north amercia. You could however, just buy a univeral one where it mounts under your tirewell and hope it doesn't break considering the amound of weight your planing on towing. It might be to much for a 25 footer boat, but be ok with a small trailer. I've seen m3's, 5series and a few other cars with aftermarket towing hitch. it shouldn't be to hard to get it to work.
