I bought my 735iL in Februaury this year (2003 model) and have just about got used to all the knobs, levers, idrive, etc. (previous car was a 5 series).

I have noticed that although the car is quick when it gets going if you stamp your foot down, for example when cruising up to a junction and finding a space to go, the car does not immediately take off. In fact the rev counter moves round but the gearbox seems to take a second or two to engage before hurling the car forward. You seem to almost get a better response if you just squeeze the pedal down gently than if you kick down?

Is there a secret way to drive the 7 series!? Maybe this is just standard with autos but my 5 series was an auto and cant say i ever noticed this on that.
