Subject: Meet Summary from Secretary of the Board

The oppressive heat of the swiftly arriving Texas summer did little to dampen the spirits of this weekend's DFW7 meet. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said of our DFW7 shirts as we patiently sweated out the arrival the entire group. The 45 minute drive to Fort Worth and lunch at Risckys BBQ provided some relief and good photo ops, but it was certainly the tech session that made this meet.

Special thanks must go to Trent Cole of Lonestar Bavarian. In this day and age of highly sanitized service centers that almost never let you close to the cars as they are being worked on, this weekend’s experience was a refreshing change. Perhaps as refreshing as the schooner of Shiner Bock we enjoyed along with our lunch. But I digress ... Trent not only showed us how the DIY job was done but he also took his time to answer a lot of our questions, remind us of the potential problems, pitfalls and work around solutions of the job at hand. It was the type of knowledge and wisdom that can only be gained from years of experience on the job.

A couple of weeks ago, there was survey about "recommended indy shops in your area". I’m fairly sure that after this weekend's tech session the DFW7 members would agree that Lone Star Bavarian is one of them.

We will most likely wait for summer to pass on by before we have our next meet. Perhaps late September or early October. No definite plans have been made so we are open for suggestions. Thanks again to everyone for participating in the meet.

Cheers,

Rob

P.S. James wasn’t too keen about my Secretary of the Bored title ... so how about Secretary of the Beered?
