Well my courier service (parents) arrived back to the states with my newly aquired 8th gen BT module from London (84 21 6 958 358). Installed it this past weekend in my 2005 E46 (which does not have an SES jumper plug anymore btw - BMW did away with this part of the wiring harness), and everything works perfectly.

Phone (Moto 551) pairs once the ignition is turned on in 5-6 seconds. All names in my phone book uploaded, and VR works great.

This thing is a battery pig though. Someone else mentions that here. Not sure I want to invest in the cradle as I may upgrade phone later this year. The plug in adapter is going to be a must. Never had that kind of battery drain with my BT earpiece. Must be all the phone/ULF communications and phone book uploads.

Anyway, just thought I'd report back.
