Visiting down in Savannah this past weekend and was on the way to get some dinner with my wife, her sister and my son. We're all just chatting and listening to some music when I pull up to a redlight and some kid pulls up behind me wearing a "man, I wanna see what that car in front of me will do" face. (whatever those look like, right?)
None the less, it was night time and the only real view that I got of him was from my brake pedal being depressed and the lights illuminating behind me. Seeing that it was a wide and very open stretch in front of me and no cars in sight other than the person next to me, I decided that I would play a little but to a more subtle tune. When the light turned green I just slowly pushed the accelerator all the way to the floor and held it threre. No punch, no kick down, just vvvvvvrrrRRROOOOOM!! hehe
I couldn't really even tell what kind of car is was at the beginning but all I knew was that it was aparent that he was trying to keep up with me and proceeded to do so until I hit redline in 2nd, tranny shifted to 3rd and then he just started to slowly fade back. He shifted lanes quickly and I really thought that he would come zooming by with a Turbo blow off or something, but he just kept slipping more and more. Once I got to where I was winding 4th a bit I slid it up to "D" and then shut it down around 105mph. He was quite a few CL behind me at that time and I just kept my foot off of the accelerator letting the car gradually slow itself....needless to say he never got up next to me. No one else in the car even realized what was going on until I was over 80mph-ish. At the next light I was turning left and he took to the right. It was a newer (though not brand new) Jetta V6 with exhaust, wheels and a booming stereo. I don't know how modded it was but I was pretty satisfied seeing that I was driving a very heavy car with 4 people total and he was in a smaller/lighter car as a single occupant and I still pulled.

Good times!
