Do a search on the web about it. It has ruined houses. I had some starting on my garage door so I had to dig up the mulch and replace it with stone.

Once that fungus gets on stuff it's almost impossible to come off. If you have a good wax on your car you might be ok. I used a plastic razor blade than brake cleaner.
