Check with your insurance company too, sometimes M's are a lot more to insure.

7k is a bit steep as the cars have similar values (I am a fellow Canadian) but then again if you sell one and buy another at the same price the tax you pay will be about the same.

I like the E36 M3 better , but it's all a personal preference.
