Subject: Motorola V60ig

I have just went through this with my own 745li '04.

CPT 9000 refers to the entire system in the car. CPT9000 does not refer specifically to the phone.

The phone must be a Motorola V60i.

The V60i comes in several flavors. Depending on your carrier you will need one of the various ones.

If you have existing Cingular on TDMA radios (no SIM card in your cell), then you can use it.

If you want NEW Cingular (GSM)/T-mobil service then you can't use TDMA because Cingular will not activiate TDMA since it is old technology. T-mobile is a GSM carrier as well. This is what I have, both Cingular and T-mobile.

If you have/want Sprint or Verizon you are probably going to need a CDMA enabled phone. I haven't used either of those since I have Cingular and T-mobile, but it is the logical progression.

Any V60i phone from ebay matched to your carrier SHOULD work. I have one. I paid $40 for one and burn 1500 min every month on the thing.

The BMW thing.. The cover badge just slides off. I have a TDMA BMW phone that the dealer gave me and Cingular wouldn't activate. So I slid it off and placed on the ebay phone...

One strange thing is that my phone will only work in the console with the BACK of the phone removed. It will not slide into the console. If anyone has a good solution for that, I would be interested. Looks kinda weird without the back on it. Most people don't notice when I am out with it..
