connection in the engine compartment when removing the struts, it makes sense to just wrap it with electrical tape. Heat shrink will work, too. I think putting silicone in the connection (even only at the edge would lead to possible difficulties when the connection is undone and redone. I've only found one thing that works on loosening silicone, Dow OS-2.
